Filth and Wisdom (2008) HQ Trailer

Following in the footsteps of her director husband Guy Ritchie, the Material Mom makes her debut behind the lens with the dark comedy Filth and Wisdom.
Not only is she calling the shots behind the camera, Madonna also co-wrote and executive produced the 80-minute film that follows three roommates living in London exploring mischievous and naughty behavior in order to ultimately pursue brighter futures.
The film stars Eugene Hutz, the lead singer of New York Gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello as an "abusive" male escort. The other characters are Holly, a ballet-turned-pole dancer, and Juliette, a thieving pharmacy assistant.
Madonna, 50, is no stranger to filmmaking. She produced a documentary, I Am Because We Are, about orphans in Malawi, where she adopted her son David Banda. The documentary premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
Filth and Wisdom is set to be released in October.
