Cruise makes serious Oprah return

Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey are sitting down to talk – but this time it's on his couch. In the first part of a two-part interview, Winfrey visits Cruise in his Telluride, Colo. home – and talk inevitably turns to the actor's now-infamous couch jumping incident from 2005. "[It] was a moment, and it was real," Cruise says about his animated profession of love for Katie Holmes, in the interview to air on Friday. "I just felt that way, and I feel that way about her," he continues. "I can't even articulate it, to be honest. That feeling, that connection. Just who she is and what she means to me." Cruise also opens up about Holmes and private moments with his family.

Here are some of the highlights from the first part of his interview. (The second part – filmed in Winfrey's Chicago studio – is scheduled to air on Monday, May 5.)

• On Connor and Bella's impressions of Holmes: "Kate shows up with cupcakes. The cupcakes are there, and they all looked at me like, 'This is cool. Can we eat these cupcakes? This lady's cool.'"

• On rumors about his relationship with Holmes: "That's laughable to me. You just know that [tabloids are] trying to sell it and spin it."

• On Connor and Bella reading tabloid reports about Cruise:"They love me, so they know. They've grown up with that, and I'm sure there are things that they don't like, and you go, 'Okay, that happened, things go wrong, but don't live in it. Don't live in that because today is a new day and there's plenty of tomorrows. They're good people, my children. I'm proud of them.I don't want them to worry. They know I'm there. No matter what, I'm always there."

• On dressing like Santa to surprise Suri: "I open the door, and I'm giving my best, 'Oh, merry Christmas! Oh, look at this little girl,' and Suri looks at me, and she says, 'No – Dada!' So that night, we were putting Suri down. Kate says, 'How was it? Did you like it? What did you think of Santa?' And Suri was really sweet, she looks up, and she goes, 'Dada Santa.'"

• On whether Cruise has been misunderstood: "Listen I, I feel like definitely things have been misunderstood, and there are things I could have done better. But then there's also that world where you go, 'Oh, it's been spun to such an extent.' "

In other comments, Cruise:
-Recalled that he waxed the floor on his hands and knees so he could do a stocking-feet slide across the room in the famous "Risky Business" underwear dance scene.

-Said his comments about Shields "came out wrong," they had been friends, he apologized, and "we're better friends now."

-His Scientology faith is about helping others and respecting their religious beliefs, and is the "exact opposite" to trying to impose that belief on others.

-"I believe in God. There's no way you can be up here and believe there isn't a God."

-Said he has a "good, easy" relationship with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, and suggestions that he doesn't let her see their children are "ridiculous ... we share custody whenever."

-Described Suri as "just magic, she's joy, just joy."

At the end of the interview, Cruise and Winfrey drove off on a snowmobile to a point overlooking the mountain range.

La famosa estrella de la televisión norteamericana recibió en su plató a las cuatro chicas más explosivas de la pantalla: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon y Kim Cattrall. Las protagonistas de Sexo en Nueva York pronto verán la película basada en la exitosa serie muy pronto en la gran pantalla. Es por ello que las hicas estuvieron promocionando el filme que las vuelve a unir y volverá a divertir al espectador con sus aventuras amorosas y su vida en familia.

Fernanda Serrano trava luta contra o cancro da mama

Depois de ter sido operada a um tumor maligno a actriz está a ser submetida a tratamentos de quimioterapia para vencer a doença.

A notícia foi dada pela actriz através de um comunicado oficial:
“Eu Fernanda Serrano venho por este meio e em nome próprio informar que me foi diagnosticado no passado mês de Fevereiro um nódulo no peito que veio posteriormente a revelar-se um tumor maligno. Depois de já ter sido submetida a uma intervenção cirúrgica e de o mesmo ter sido removido de imediato, encontro-me em fase de recuperação. Por respeito a todos os que sempre me apoiaram directa ou indirectamente, informo que me encontro tranquila e muito confiante no tratamento que teve início. Nesta fase agradeço que o apoio de todos se traduza no respeito pelo silêncio e calma que eu e toda a minha família necessitamos e defendemos. Nestes primeiros tempos não serão prestadas quaisquer declarações sobre a evolução do meu estado de saúde, agradecendo a omissão de quaisquer especulações. Quero apenas partilhar que estou segura de que sairei vitoriosa desta batalha. Em breve retornarei aos meus projectos profissionais quer na televisão, quer no teatro. Esta é uma doença que afecta muitas mulheres por todo o mundo às quais expresso a minha solidariedade. Continuarei a sorrir, até breve."
Com o comunicado em que torna pública a sua doença, a intenção de Fernanda é levar uma palavra de coragem às mulheres que têm cancro da mama e sensibilizar as pessoas para o rastreio precoce da doença.

La modelo argentina presentó a su hija recién nacida, Taína, mientras que su primer libro de moda se presenta en la Feria del Libro de Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Con mucho orgullo de madre, Valeria Mazza presentó a su hija recién nacida, Taína. Pero la felicidad de la modelo argentina es por partida doble, ya que además se presenta su primer libro en la Feria del Libro de Buenos Aires, Argentina.

La modelo de 36 años dio a luz el pasado 22 de abril, en el Sanatorio Otamendi de la capital argentina. En conferencia de prensa, Mazza informó que la pequeña nació por parto natural, pesó 8 libras y midió 53 centímetros. Mazza explicó que nombró a su beba Taína por la primera tribu que encontró Cristobal Colón cuando descubrió el continente americano, y que el significado es noble, bueno.

Aunque no es el primer retoño de la bella argentina y su esposo, Alejandro Gravier, ésta es la primera hembrita. La pareja ya tienen a Balthazar, de 8, Tiziano, de 5, y Benicio, de 3. “Vino la niña. Creo que hemos cerrado la fábrica. Creo que [4] es un buen número. Es una beba muy buena”, expresó la madre emocionada.

Por otra parte, Mazza le acaba de dar la bienvenida a otro bebé en su vida: su primer libro, titulado ¿Qué me pongo?. Éste fue lanzado en la Feria del Libro, que se llevará a cabo en la capital argentina hasta el próximo 12 de mayo. La modelo declaró que produjo este libro durante los nueve meses de su embarazo. El texto está dedicado a la mujer que gusta de la moda y quiere tener estilo, e incluye consejos para las embarazadas.

Se espera que el libro sea lanzado en el resto de Latinoamérica, Europa y Estados Unidos a partir del segundo semestre del año.

It seems the Sex and the City Movie is not going to have its worldwide premiere in New York – instead it’s apparently going to be opening in London on 12 May! Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis will all be crossing the pond for the premiere, but Mr Big – Chris Roth – won’t be making the trip. A studio rep played down the decision to have the premiere away from the traditional SATC stomping ground of Manhattan, explaining, "London will be much smaller. The whole cast isn't even going. It was simply a question of logistics and scheduling. We're still planning the big premiere to be in New York." The New York premiere will take place on 27 May at the famous Radio City Music Hall and will be followed by a reception at the Museum of Modern Art.
