Halle Berry Has a Baby Girl: Nahla Ariela Aubry

Halle Berry – who only recently said, "I want to stay pregnant forever" – had a baby girl Sunday and "is doing great," her rep has confirmed. The father is Gabriel Aubry. Berry, 41, and the 32-year-old model met while shooting a Versace ad in Los Angeles in November 2005 and first stepped out publicly together three months later at the February 2006 opening of a Versace boutique in New York City. Berry first announced her pregnancy in September last year, when she was three months along. During her pregnancy, the Oscar, Emmy and Razzie winner told InStyle she felt "fantastic" thanks to eating right and keeping fit with yoga, swimming, light weights and an elliptical machine. "Right now I just have so much joy and energy," she said. "I can just go and go and go." For his part, Aubry has been reading baby manuals and parenting books.

Halle Berry has revealed the name of her newborn daughter: Nahla Ariela Aubry. The baby girl, who was born Sunday is the first for the Oscar winning actress and her model boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry. A day after Nahla's birth, Aubry's sister, Eugenie, told PEOPLE, "It's been a long time since we've had a new baby in the family. It's very exciting." Nahla means honeybee in Arabic. Berry, 41, tells Access Hollywood, "We didn't have a name picked out until just before we left the hospital." "For us it was hard to name the most important person in our life until we met her," Berry adds.

Clooney group gives $500,000 to Darfur relief

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A charitable group co-founded by Hollywood actors George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon, has given $500,000 to the United Nations World Food Program to help stem hunger, an affiliated organization said on Thursday.
The World Food Program (WFP) uses helicopters to send support people and food to northern Sudan and, more specifically, into the Darfur region that has been seen a huge influx of refugees in recent years as war ravaged the area.
"Without immediate additional funding, humanitarian aid in the region will be crippled," Clooney said in a statement, noting that it is a critical time in Darfur.
Friends of the World Food Program, which is a nonprofit group that helps build support for the UN group, said the Clooney-backed charitable group known as Not On Our Watch gave $1 million to the WFP in 2007.
Not On Our Watch also was co-founded by actor Don Cheadle and producer Jerry Weintraub. Many Hollywood stars and people around the world have become involved in humanitarian efforts to help the refugees in Darfur.
Friends of the World Food Program said the WFP needs $77 million in 2008 to sustain its operations. The WFP expects to support some 180,000 aid workers from 180 agencies in Sudan, and about 70 percent of that is in Darfur.
The region has been at the center of a bloody conflict between the Sudanese government, which has armed militias of mostly Arabs known as the Janjaweed, and non-Arab rebels.
Experts believe some 200,000 people have died in the conflict and 2.5 million have been driven from their homes since fighting began in 2003.

Final Potter film split in half

The Potter films have made around £2.2bn at the box office.
The seventh and final Harry Potter book will be adapted for the big screen in two parts, Warner Bros has confirmed.
The announcement comes after producer David Heyman admitted it was impossible to cram Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows' 608 pages into a single movie.
"You cannot remove elements of this book," he told the Los Angeles Times.
Fans of the series have been left disappointed in the past when key scenes, including Quidditch matches, were excised for the film adaptations.
Star Daniel Radcliffe told the Los Angeles Times that splitting JK Rowling's final book in two was the only sensible option for the film-makers.
"There have been compartmentalised subplots in the other books that have made them easier to cut - although those cuts were still to the horror of some fans," he told the paper.
"The seventh book doesn't really have any subplots. It's one driving, pounding story from the word go."
In a statement, Jeff Robinov, president of Warner Bros, added that the split release was "the best way to do the book, and its many fans, justice".

'Exhilarating journey'
The Kill Bill strategy will also have the benefit of boosting profits at the film studio.
The first five movies have made $4.5 billion (£2.2 billion) worldwide - making it the biggest film franchise in box office history, surpassing both James Bond and Star Wars.
Filming for the sixth chapter in the series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, began in September last year.
It is being directed by David Yates, who will also helm the final two films.
"I consider it a great privilege to continue to bring Jo's extraordinary world to the screen, and to be the director to complete this epic and exhilarating journey," he said.
The first instalment of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows is due in autumn 2010, with part two scheduled for the following summer.
